In these six months of 2015, we have successfully fundraised and donated 167,009 NT to the Taiwanese community!（ENGLISH BELOW)

In these six months of 2015, we have successfully fundraised and donated 167,009 NT to the Taiwanese community, providing vegan food and lessening the suffering of animals via Bright Side Projects and Animals Taiwan. Our latest campaign “Eat for Love” launched with Vegan Affair’s Taipei Plant-based Love” Map eased us gracefully into 2015 World Vegan Day.
10/16-11/1 Eat for Love
We want to thank all participating eateries Ooh Cha Cha, Fresh Bakery & Café, Bio @Peace Café, Mianto, Green Bakery, Vegg Out!, Soul R Vegan, for their compassion!
We know that eating plant-based is never just for any single reason and no other means more to me than the one about community. If we truly wish to have a positive impact on the world, it will take all of us to make the effort.
For two weeks in October seven of Taipei’s best plant-base establishments have gotten behind our last minute “Eat for Love” campaign to donate a generous percentage of proceeds to charities. Combined, close to 100 visits totaling 70,000NT in revenue were brought to the stores. Along with the proceeds from our mini Halloween candy and bake sale that took place at Ooh Cha Cha, with vegan candy made by the children of ChingChuan on 10/18, 23,503 NT will be donated to charities.
10/18 ChingChuan Halloween Candy
We headed up to ChingChuan with Teacher Josette Penzel and a group of Big Friends to create vegan candies with the fun Atayal kids. This is a location Bright Side Projects has been returning to for over three years, creating workshops, making friends, and sharing plant-based foods. Peanut butter sweet potato cups and chocolate truffles, as well as simple Halloween-esque décor was hand-made by the kids.
Showing them how their art and creativity can be shifted into positive action to impact others is empowering.
Taipei Plant-Based Map
The gorgeous map was printed in limited quantities and was quickly snapped up in various destinations with many non-vegan friends sampling the restaurants for the first time. You can still download the maps here and keep an eye out for our next campaign in 2016 and revised list of our top 30. Thanks to Haichen Hsu for the illustration.
With this experience, we know that our next efforts will bring out an even greater impact and invite you to join us again!
